On behalf of the the Seimas of the Lithuanian Republic and from her personally, Chairperson of the Seimas of the Lithuanian Republic Loreta Grauziniene congratulated Oleksandr Turchynov on his appointment to the post of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
In the letter of Chairperson of the Parliament L. Grauziniene, she claimed that “after three months of efforts, determination of the nation has led to great changes in Ukraine, and this have entrusted you with even greater responsibility when working on the post of the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.”
“You took up this post in a very responsible moment, since you will have to not only govern the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, but also perform the President’s duties, and consolidate democratic choice of Ukraine. This is both a great responsibility in a new challenge and a significant historic event,” the letter reads.
L. Grauziniene assured Oleksandr Turchynov that the Seimas of the Lithuanian Republic, as a longtime partner of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, will further support Ukraine’s integration to the EU by using available cooperation tools: Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Seimas of Republic of Lithuania and Senate of Republic of Poland, international connections with Ukrainian groups, and other parliamentary means.
